Rip Gmt
As much as I'm sure the new GMT is stunning. I do feel sad that Rolex has removed the orginal style from its catalogue.
RIP GMT Welcome a new generation of GMT's

That's progress!! What's the betting that they produce a 'retro' model in a few year's time?

Yeah, and RIP Tritium dial.
RIP plexi crystal. RIP slow-beat movements. RIP stretched bracelets. Depends on how you look at it, but I consider the new Rolex watches to be PROGRESS.

It is kind of sad. I do love the older version, and may well get one at some point, a nice Coke bezel.

the GMT was the rolex i fell in love with as a kid; the GMT IIc is the one i bought when i finally decided i should get a rolex. one is an extension, a continuation, of the other. the GMT IIc is the watch it is because of the heritage from which it springs: the GMT.

Don't worry folks, they'll bring back the GMT-II in ten years or so, when it will be "retro" and they'll charge double for it... And funny enough, we'll pay it!
