Lose Yachtmaster - Gain Sub C no date?

The First Rolex I ever fell in love with 12 years ago was the yachtmaster and I finally got one 3 months ago.
Love it........but
I have my eye on the Sub C No Date and I'm wondering if that black\stainless contrast is the way to go or am I just in that " I want a new rolex" mode again?

I can sell the Yachtmaster for about the same $ that a Sub will cost so I'm no more $ out of my pocket

What to do?!?

Personally I prefer the Sub over the YM.

Take a week to think about it then decide.

Tough choice I have never sold or traded a Rolex that I didn't wished I had back.
So my advice is go slow.

Keep the Yacht Master. I would miss not having a date on my watch.

Do what I did, keep the YM & look at the Tudor Pelagos if you don't mind titanium. When I looked at them side by side, I chose the pelagos.
Matte black & titanium combo looks really good & about 1/2 the price of sub no date.

well, i'd keep the ym (especially if its the blue face). i think its a truly unique rolex and i'm starting to appreciate it more and more. in the end, its what you'll be satisfied with until the next trade.

I'd get the 114060 as I like the heftier case and clasp... as long as you don't need the date.

I'd go for the SubC, but you've it's your choice that matters. You've wanted that YM for a long time, so give it some time, try on the SubC now and then. It'll wait until you are sure.

Take a couple months to think about it. I've had watches that I've wanted badly for a month or so and then after that I become interested in a different one. If you want it after a while, go for it.

Buying one and then wanting another is all part of the process. I have a Subc nd right now but quite fancy a Black Bay.

Stick with it for a while.

Depends on what you're after; the YM is more blingy/dressy, while the Sub has more of a tool watch look, but still is more than nice enough to dress up well, and the ceramic version (which based upon pricing is what I assume you're looking at) has a bit more pop so will definitely have plenty of versatility.

I personally prefer the GMT IIc of the newer ones as the lugs are a bit less squared-off than in the Sub, I like the bezel more, and with the PCLs it dresses up more nicely (and can easily be dressed down by fitting either a new Sub bracelet, a 78790 works fine as well, or you can brush it if so inclined), but honestly it's personal preference, so get the one that makes your heart sing.

Only thing I would miss with the Sub would be the date, although the absence of the cyclops does give the dial a bit better symmetry (though the 16600 is a good alternative and has no cyclops but still has date; I just picked one up and just love it). But if you're good without it, grab the Sub, though as others said take your time, you don't want to make a decision you'll regret later.

Coincidentally, when shopping for a Sub No Date recently, at local AD I was taken by a stunning YM. Platinum bezel, dark blue dial, wow, really liked it, but it is way out of my range. If I had one, I would not give it up.

I agree, give it a little more time, if by then it doesn't sing to you well... follow your heart and go with the Sub. Let us know.

There is some logic to this, I would also go for the SubC but wait a week or so as a "cool down" period. If your love for the SubC is still strong, then at least you know it's real

I absolutely love the no date sub. No tinkering around. One crown setting - SET THE TIME. uncluttered dial, glide lock bracelet is amazing.

I've had my Yacht-Master for over 2 years and I plan on keeping mine forever - just like you, it's the watch I always drooled over for many years.

With that being said, I'm saving up for probably a Sea Dweller or GMT to compliment it.

I love the platinum coloring of the Yacht-Master and think that silver dial (or white I suppose) is essential for every watch collection. It's just so versatile!!

I'd recommend keeping the YM and saving up for the Sub C down the road. I think you'll regret it in the long run but you know better than us what YOU want... maybe you're more of a Sub guy than you originally thought?

I made a mistake, once! I traded a TT DJ with Roman Numerals that I loved, and after the fever of the new watch was gone, I was kicking myself. I purchased another DJ, just like it, but the relationship was not the same, so we got divorced quick, LOL....

Think about it, specially if the watch means that much to you.

I concur. No date to re-adjust, less chance of "screwing" the watch. Forgive me for the pun. Can't help myself again. lol
