Like it. Just read the article on Hodinkee. The older I get, the more the romantic in me comes out...it would really be nice to see this watch with a manual movement. However, it looks great.

The Dial work is superb, I do agree with you about wishing it was manual.
Manual just feels right... and they could have really shown off the movement. + im not so sure I like the date. Might have been nicer just leaving that out. |

This is a great development for Cartier, and I wish them success with the Tank MC, but I just can't shake the "fashion-brand" tag away from Cartier, even with its storied history. From its heydays as the chief supplier of jewelry for the Maharajas of India to the present day, they've never had any true horological credibility, and have only recently started to take finishing and the concept of in-house movements seriously. Even now, most of their pieces are downright gaudy and lacking in taste, but maybe the JLC Reverso has spoilt me. THAT to me screams good taste and elegance, not to mention a terrific history as arguably the first true sports watch. Funny how it has now become the quintessential dress watch. A reflection of the times we live in!

That watch definatly should have a manual movement. Automatic seems out of place in a watch like that.

No, there is only one other Tank I'd buy besides my tank solo and that is the original hand wind 18k tank louis cartier.
