The Tag Heuer I Couldn't Buy
I was at a Duty Free in downtown Honolulu, browsing their amazing selection of watches. If you ever get a chance, definitely check it out. The watches are on the 3rd floor. They have just about every high end brand, and a ton of stock in the cases to drool over.
In among their Tag Heuer's, I saw an Aquaracer Calibre 5 with a blue dial. It looked normal but it actually had a design on the dial displaying the Hawaiian Islands, and the script "Hawaii Limited Edition". It was beautiful, and I wanted it as a souvenir. However, I knew I couldn't buy it from Duty Free without an international passport, so I started looking at other retailers in Honolulu like Tourneau, Macy's, etc. None of these places had ever even heard of the Hawaii Aquaracer. I looked online and at small jewelry shops without any luck. Finally I went back to Duty Free to ask about the watch. It was already sold, and they only had a ladies version left. The clerk told me that only 300 pieces were made, and only Duty Free carried them. UGH!!! So I wound up buying a nice Hawaiian heirloom ring as a souvenir, but I wanted that Tag so bad! |
