your take on hublot...
well, title says it. whats your take on hublot? i generally like their designs.(except the blinged out ones)
i like bigger watches because of my 8" wrists, but other than that i have a hard time justifying the price. i dont know a whole terrible lot about the brand, except they are fairly young? what kind of movements? any opinions would be appreciated. thanks |

They're not my taste, but I applaud the design. I'm not sure i understand why they're so expensive. I've heard the depreciation on a new one is just breathtaking...

Knock-off of the worst designs AP hast to offer... at best. If you buy one, makes sure it has "bang" in the name.

Some of their watches look nice but it's not my favorite brand. I prefer smaller and dressier watches myself so I am afraid I wouldn't be able to love a lot of their models.

I think they are foul all around. There are one or 2 combos that are quite attractive mostly because of the 10 layer cases and the AP influence.

I don't like Hublot, apart from their minute repeater watch.

Well…..
I gave my BB Evolution to my best friend (he works in my other friends Hublot Boutique) and I haven't missed it one bit lol. Not to mention, it just flooded in the pool, and there have been TONS of incidents with weak waterproofing of the watches and seal issues.. Great marketing team they have, impressive use of some materials over the years but as a whole not for me. |

I must admit I like SOME of them - but more so when I saw their magazine ads in the mid-1990's of the Classic models.
As others have said - they take an absolute beating on resale. |

I dislike Hublot design at the moment but the UNICO movement is very relevant. Hopefully they'll find their vision someday.

People who says hublot is bad, they are too fanatic about rolex, ap and patek. they blind for the BRAND NAME instead of the creative design.
Hublot UNICO is really great. in house design. u should get this. the skeleton design makes the dial becomes complicated, its difficult to design and make skeleton. get this! Before i dont like 90% of hublot design, now I love their 90% of the product. the first time i saw panerai the dial is like kids design. its soooo simple that everyone can draw the dial. but now, i start to like it time change, taste change. |

UNICO is absolutely a gorgeous design but I disagree with the first part of your statement. People who dislike Hublot are entitled to dislike it for whatever reason without resorting to the "brand" argument. What you call "creative design" I happen to think is awkward compared to the Genta's classic designs. IMO JCB did remarkably well at Blancpain and Omega but never got Hublot to that next level... maybe he was focused to much on his cheese operations?

I just love the design, especially the aerobang dial.
And Hublot Big Bang watches are exceptionally very comfortable to wear. Mine With my friend's

Not a huge fan of Hublot but some of their simpler ceramic & steel Big Bangs are attractive. Would never buy a new one for reasons mentioned above. I'm not really an AP Offshore guy either. I'm done with big bulky watches, they just end up getting flipped.

Two people last week asked me if my AP was a Hublot. It made me sad. Then I had to try to find a non-pretentious way to correct them. I failed. That made me sad, too.
