I have left a watch in a Hotel room once, never saw it again. It wasn't in the safe though.

On your wrist is the safest. Obviously if it's insured (hoping it is for your sake) it gives you a better piece of mind. For me the sentimental value is irreplaceable, and they stay on my wrist.

Casio has some great travel watches.........
Personally anywhere in the world that I don't know I don't take a watch that could draw attention, or that may create a perception about me. And like many I travel a lot. The Tudor is always a good travel companion for me.

This forum leads me to believe that many members feel that their watches are too precious to wear.
If you are afraid to clap, wash your hands or travel with your watches it begs the question of when you actually wear them? Personally I have Insurance on my nicer watches. If they get stolen from a hotel then they get stolen from a hotel. Would you make your wife leave her jewelry at home and buy her something from the sears jewelry counter to match your travel Casio?

First, as has been stated, you should have your watches and other valuables insured and if you are taking more than one watch it would be best to leave it at the front desk for them to put in the Hotel's Safe(Deposit Boxes)...as these are more secure. I would never use one of those small room safes and of course your safest plan is to leave them at home in your Bank's Safe.
My plan would be to only take one watch and it would be placed on my wrist as they are meant to be worn. And if you do not feel safe when you travel then don't take any valuable items at all...instead buy yourself a Casio G-Shock or some other less expensive watch...and wear it!!! Take it easy.....Leo

I generally only take one "nice" watch with me, and I intend to wear it most of the time. You may ask the hotel if they offer any type of insurance. I have stayed at some hotels that will offer an insurance policy on the in-room safes (from brake-in and theft), but I have never really looked into it.
