I love the look of my Heuer, And do think it looks terrific, horrible time piece though, gains a couple of minutes a day. I am surprised how many rate the Monaco it came well after the originals and is as much a movie piece as anything else.

A lot of this comes down to volume vs uniqueness, personally I think the original Daytona deserves its place not sure a modern version does.

Haha. Let's not get carried away! But I find it interesting that no one disputes the Speedmaster. I don't own one (yet) but I hope to sometime next year. The fun is putting them on the list and slowly marking them off. I also think that if a Heuer is on the list it should be the Monaco. Seeing Ken's '70 1133B convinced me.

Being the first automatic Chrono gives it importance in the chrono category as well as it's iconic look.
The caliber 11 is a great movement and for me mine keeps good time still after 43 years.

1) The chrono that catapulted Breitling to another level, the 1954-55 first generation pre 806 Navitimer made specially for pilot members of the AOPA(http://www.aopa.org/) and http://www.aopa.org/About-AOPA/Gover...y-of-AOPA.aspx in the U.S. These were distributed by Wakmann in the US due to a Swiss watch embargo back then. Has an interesting array of sliderule and aviation complications to measure ground speed, fuel consumption, addition/mult/division, speed/gradient, etc.. Sports a Valjoux 72 movement.

2) 1946 triple date chronograph Datora 785 in 18kt Rose Gold (Valjoux 72C movement), one of the most beautiful chronos have come across.

I agree. As much as I love the Monaco the Carrera has that little bit 'more' to it. I'll add my voice to the calls for the El Primero too

I actually agree with this list (except that the Tag should be a Monaco, obviously).

I like Zenith a lot, and the El Primero is an iconic movement. But is the Zenith 3019 (or any particular Zenith watch) really more iconic than any of those 5? I'd have to say no.
