The reason we are always on the hunt is because we never got bonded to the watches we already have.

Easy if you wanna quick.
Surrender all your savings, monthly income and credit cards to your wife. And let her dictates your monthly allowance.

...take a look in the mirror and have an internal chat with yourself about greed?! That's what I do.

Edit: we've all got it around here, but there's no harm in looking!

There's far more harmful habits out there than this. It's a sickness that I really don't mind having!

Keep taking days off of work to visit the AD.
Eventually you'll lose your job, which means no more watches.
That's the fix.

Staying away from your AD is only going to delay the future purchase. When I was undecided about the Sub vs. Daytona choice, I had decided to go with the Daytona. I found myself in the for sale section and the Daytona I was wanting was available. I was wanting to trade the Evolution since it was not being worn much after the two pearl face Chronomats were purchased. Then talking with George at Govberg Jewelers, he offered my a fair trade for a new Sub purchase. The only problem is that this cycle might repeat itself over and over. Some owners have awesome photography skills that when viewing their watches, stirs that desire of the next one!
I need to quit typing so I can go look a the For Sale Thread!

Realize you own way too many things and then see a relative or friend having health issues and no money.

The first step to kicking the addiction is admitting you have a problem. Your half way there!

I think we all know and admit we have problems. It's the second half that's hard. But what beshannon said will put things in perspective.

Continue to take days off from work to visit ADs and I think the watch addiction will soon be cured.

Everyone needs a vice, or several small ones. I no longer smoke or gamble, women grew too expensive so that went away, the drinking is confined to holidays and parole hearings, so I like to buy a nice watch sometimes. I've tried gardening, but it's not the same....

Some people are functioning watch addicts and manage to live normal, healthy lives despite their addiction. Supposedly.

It is a sickness and participating with all you degenerates on this forum only makes it worse. Fortunately, I have a checks and balances system. And she checks my activities and will balance a bat upside my head if I get out of line. So I have a disciplined approach which allows me to pick up one or two pieces a year I want so in between that I just have to be patient. Which is actually my biggest character flaw.

Just remember they all go up in value. You can't buy enough. Better than tech, gold, or a rare Ferrari. Buy more. At least that's what my wife says ;-)

I purchased my first Rolex 2 years ago. At that time I told myself I finally purchased the watch I have always wanted. Six months later the sickness started. While on travel it was easy to stay away from the forum and not be as tempted. While home I watch a lot of sports often while watching the Yankees I can't help but get on the forum and lust over which watch I would like to buy next? My wife and kids think I am sick and want me to seek help. They say every watch I show them looks almost the same. Why would I want another watch that looks like the one I have. My wife knows my desire to buy another Rolex but I think I am wearing on her. Either that or they have all planned an intervention for me. Will the next purchase keep me satisfied for a year or longer? I have not gotten there yet but hopefully I will know soon or I will find myself in Rolex rehab.
