I picked up an A serial Explorer II yesterday. Watch is in near mint condition. I have a Timegrapher 1000 and the beat error was fine, but the amplitude was a little low and the watch was running an average of 10 seconds fast per day.

About 6 months ago I bought one of those blue demagnetizers on Ebay as shown in the beginning of this thread. This morning I decided to run the watch over the demagnetizer.

Guess what? It now runs 0 seconds per day and the amplitude has increased to 290. I highly recommend that everyone pick up one of these demagnetizers. It is also handy to demagnetize screwdrivers or other tools that may be coming in contact with your watches.

I've been on the fence as to whether to buy one or not. Your post tips me to buy one, thanks!

It's short money Chris. Paid for itself the first time I used it.
