I have been reading all the comments and it appears everyone is against the trade, well as an owner of both the 114060 and Black Bay I can comfortable say that though the ND Sub feels more substantial than the Black Bay it wouldn't be a bad trade at all...
This hobby is for the love of what you want and would enjoy wearing and not what is deemed better on the outside... Someone may get more enjoyment driving a Nissan than a Ferrari ;-) I am for the trade Sammy, good luck

I have the Black Bay and the 14060, which is 40mm like the 114060 but wears smaller. You can see them in this pic. I would NOT make that trade. I love the Black Bay but I eventually want to trade my 14060 for the 114060. Don't do it!

Haha wow, didn't realize I would face such a showing of support for the ND SubC compared with the Tudor BB!
First off, thanks all for your input, you guys have swayed me to hang on to my Sub C ND. The reason why I asked was because IMO, Rolexes that are put on aftermarket straps aren't really my thing. I can understand why others on TRF are very happy with their Rolexes set up that way, but for me personally I really wouldn't want to put a strap on my SubC, GMT, or Daytona. For whatever reason, because the BB comes on a OEM strap with deployant clasp, that kind of appealed to me versus the idea of putting a strap on my 114060, I like the way the BB looks with the strap but not really a fan of the SubC ND on a strap if that makes sense. You guys are right though, I'll just save up for the BB since it's cost is appreciatively less than my other 3 watches. You guys can all relax now!! |

If the 114060 isn't appealing to you and if the BB will get more wrist time, then I would do it. I never saw the point of keeping a watch that others thought was more valuable but which would lie in my drawer gathering dust. |

the BB is quite a different watch to the 114060, it's wider, has a bigger dial and the lug-to-lug is longer
Although they're about the same height, the BB looks very slab sided when compared to the subC Things which may or not be relevant are that bezel insert of the BB is Ali not ceramic, the BB only has 60clicks, the rolex bracelet is more solid and (of course) has the glidelock The BB is a stunning watch, that's for sure, but imvho the sub is the better product But watches aren't logical propositions, that's why we buy them, if the OP truly doesn't like his subC and is set on the tudor, then go make yourself happy buddy!! |

I can see why you would like to have the Tudor....but to answer your specific question...yes, you are crazy.

Potentially a bad trade. I wouldn't do it. As others have suggested, save up for the BB and put the Sub on a strap. I currently have two Panerais that I enjoy the ability to change the straps.

At this point it's all just academic anyway, as the OP has already decided. Great thread though! I was surprised by the huge percentage against. |

I tried them both and I'm huge fan of 114060 Sub, a true icon among Rolex watches.
However.... Do simply what you like, we all know that Sub will better hold the value, but let me say that BB is in no lesser watch in any means. It's solid as a rock and IMHO is a little bit more attractive because of it's vintage look. I'm not sure if I would trade Sub for BB, but if I should choose between buying one of these two, my choice would be Tudor. |
