seadweller 16600 v series production year??

Hello All,
I am interested in getting a seadweller 16600 made in 2008, since my sons birth year. I am looking at a sea dweller with serial number v244xxx sold March 2009. Does anyone have an insight when the watch may have been produced? 2009 or 2008?

You could never tell the exact production date for any Rolex watch only a approx date when the case or clasp was stamped this dont mean when watch was made.Now V serials started to appear at the various ADs around August 2008 and ran well into June 2010 and possible later.So your watch could be produced 2008 or 2009 but its very close if sold in March.

Thank you for the info. Out of experience, how many seadwellers did rolex produce in a month or year. Where would that leave a seadweller 166000 with serial #244xxx? Since the watch was originally sold in March 09 I guess chances are pretty high that it was made in 2008??? Pretty silly I guess, but just would like to have something to pass on to my son and should be made the same year he was born (Aug 08).

Well Rolex produce around 900000 total watch units a year the 16600 seadweller was quite a popular watch but not sold on the same volume as the 16610 Subs.Afraid only Rolex would know the production figures for each watch like I said watch could be made 2008 or 2009.
