Lange Grand Complication
I had the pleasure last night of attending an event in NYC hosted by the North American Lange team of Gaetan Guillosson and Kate Nichols, with special guests Wilhelm Schmid and Anthony De Haas. Mr. Schmidt is of course the CEO of Lange and Mr. De Haas is the Director of Project development.
The event was hosted by Lange to celebrate and introduce the most complicated wristwatch from Germany, the Grand Complication. A wonderful evening of fine wines and a lovely dinner was a precursor to spending some quality time hearing from the experts regarding the development of this fabulous piece. With only 6 of these watches ever to be produced, most will never see it in person. It was indeed a pleasure to get to place it on my wrist and talk with Anthony about the development of the piece. The pride that the Lange team exhibits towards this masterpiece is evident and it makes me happy that I've "hitched my wagon" to this fine brand. You'll see by the pictures that this is a definitely a large piece. I didn't take many pics, but these will give an idea of the size, complexity and pure beauty of this pride of Lange. Anthony De Haas discussing some details of the Grand Complication. [ATTACH]439621 Some wrist shots. [ATTACH]439622 [ATTACH]439623 [ATTACH]439624 |

Just for the record, this is NOT my watch. I re-read my post and wanted to be sure that I didn't leave anyone with the impression that I actually owned this. (I wish)
As is common with these numbered pieces, the one on display was actually number 0 of 6 and will remain the property of Lange. We can expect to see more outstanding watches coming out of Lange going forward, of that I am sure. |

Wow, that is a "massive" piece!
From Lange's website: "With a grande sonnerie, a perpetual calendar, and a split-seconds chronograph with flying seconds the GRAND COMPLICATION is the most complicated timepiece manufactured by A. Lange & Söhne. The work involved is so intricate that only one of these watches can be produced per year. The Grand Complication edition is limited to 6 watches." http://www.alange-soehne.com/timepie...s/introduction |

At 50 mm and 20 mm thick it should be a pocket watch. Still impressive though.
