Awesome watch! Enjoy!

The way you captured the first pic, it looks like a No Date DSSD.

Firstly, I would like to give a shout-out to all the guys in this friendly forum for giving me some really useful tips on the best places in Tokyo to get a Rolex. Especially to Gaijin for sharing his personal experiences via PMs, which are immensely helpful in making me less nervous about buying a big-ticket item in a foreign country. It was also the first time in my life that I was carrying a stash of slightly over 1 million yen in cash, in 10,000 yen denominations. Believe me, initially you'll be so paranoid about everyone around you, from the moment you step out of the money changer.

So I ended up getting my beautiful DSSD at Kame Kichi at Nakano Broadway, as they have the best price. The warranty card is from a Greece AD that's post-dated to 10 days after my purchase, which is great. The customer service at Kame Kichi was top notch, although they don't speak a whole lot of English. You got to know fairly well what you want in advance to keep the conversation less complex. The sales rep kept asking me whether everything were to my satisfaction, including proactively replacing the manual booklet for me as the previous one had some little worn edges at the corner. The customer service is definitely better than some of the ADs I've been to. And the sheer number of fine watches in that little shop is unbelievable, you name it, they got it.

Coming from my current chunky watches, I don't have any problem with the size of the DSSD. In fact, I do find my DSSD perceptually a little smaller, as compared to my Panerai and B&R. But that's due to the thicker bezel and smaller dial, although their overall sizes are similar. And if there's only one watch I can choose to face apocalypse tomorrow, my DSSD would be it, as it looks like it can survive through anything.

Going on an overseas vacation is always a joy, and getting a fine watch as part of the trip is heaven. And did I mention that the price of my DSSD is more than 30% off the AD list price at my home country in Singapore, it's unbelievable.

Last but not least, here's a new happy Rolex owner sharing some pics of his newborn baby.

Thanks again everyone!

Congratz on your purchase. Does the shop sell secondhand Rolex also? Im going to Tokyo next april and considering to buy a rolex there if its ao much cheaper :)
