Hey there
Hi guys,
I'm David from Germany. I'm a 28 years old phD engineering student, and I just got my first Rolex, which I consider a good time to introduce myself and admit my watchoholism. As the pictures tell you, the alps are my playground. Looking forward to having a good time with you guys, David |

Welcome to TRF David !
Good taste in watches there. I like them both and it are both classics, if you ask me. Love the Omega Seamaster Chrono you have there, I have the Non-chrono version as a daily beater (regret not having the chrono). And the Rolex (pepsi) GMT..... well done man! Also a good choice as a first Rolex |

Thank you, everyone!
Sometimes I happen to think the other way around about my chrono. The guy is pretty bulky in height and a true heavy weight, but I wouldn't wanna get rid of it. It's a nice counter part to the lovely GMT. |

The GMT is so pretty pretty with all its cute little details compared to the omega. If it was a human, it would be a little girl. And the Omega would be her pumped up, scarred big brother.

As many people write about their first contact, I wanna share mine, too.
Whenever somebody gave me a watch when I was a kid, I wore it for a couple of weeks, whereafter I forgot about the watch forever. I'm a pretty messy dude, anyway, so I simply forgot putting them on and, finally, about the watch. So I didn't give a dm about watches until 2012. Somebody I don't really like came in with a 16600 Sea Dweller around his wrist (which at that time I din't know; not even the Rolex design, I just noticed the watch because I care about things). My first question: "Is this an actual Rolex?". I was thinking wtf; expensive watches ain't tradition in my family. He told me a lot of bullshit about the watch and brand. He always tells bullshit about everything; lot of fairy-tale content. Anyhow, something happend to me. Then everything started. I gave it a first shot with the crappy Omega watch in order to see, whether the watch thing is for me or not. And it turned out to be. So nothing spectecular. I still can't explain why I spend ridiculously much money on watches and can't quit, but I'm OK with it. I hope you can sense irony in this post, when I mean it. D |

Love the Alps, and your shot with the rope was excellent. I wonder if you will get the Explorer bug before long (this place will help you with that). Welcome to TRF!

I already have. Love the X-II
Have been attracted to the 216570 big time, but back when I put the 16710 on for the first time, I knew what Rolex is about. However, I still want the ExII. |
