Well everyone ..... I believe it's going to be a great success over time. The surgery went better than could have been hoped and between my wonderful wife and the outstanding medical team here I have been snoozing on and off in my room. I am in the cardiac ICU and I'm glad for it as it does offer a bit closer attention and being that it's a clinical trial I think that's just pretty standard stuff but I think it has the opportunity to be a life changer and "attitude and WILL" play a lot into that so I hope those attributes in me help make it even more successful. Thanks for your replies and I'm going to close my eyes again for a bit. Ciao for now.

Great news, it seems just yesterday they were just starting with heart surgery, and making a positive difference in extending our life. Both my grandparents died of heart problems that could have been fix today.

Good luck to you! Really appreciate putting faces to people's voice or writings. It just brings us all just one step closer as one big happy family on this incredible forum. Thank you for sharing the picture of the both of you. I deal a lot with people over the phone and thru emails, however meeting a person is much more enriching.

Thank you all once again. I'm ready to be home, I'm tired of being poked, I'm needled out for the moment. 2 more days of hospital appointments and then I fly home on Tuesday. I am exhausted! My wife had to return home before me as she is needed at her office so I'm very much missing the comfort she brings me as well as my cat who knows that dad has been very sick the last two years and is and has been a wonderful friend, my wife said she walks around looking for me.
Meeting Rikki and hearing a bit of his story was very nice but after this last week it seems like a million years ago but I'm very glad that I took time to visit him and at least get my watch a clean bill of health, I have a ways to go before I can say the same for me. But I'm still thankful for the life I am able to have, there's always someone worse off! Thanks again everyone

Any guy who goes and visits a watch repair icon like Rikki right before a major surgery is the type of person I can relate to. Rikki does magic on Rolex watches (see my avatar). And for you Richard, you have earned the right to call yourself a true WIS. The rest of us need to take lessons from you and your experience...

Well thank you Al for your very kind post, I'm almost unable to find words to respond with which is rare for me considering i own a couple car lots and before I got sick considered myself able to just rattle something off with not a moments worth of delay but your post moved me. Thank you! That means a lot to me, this forum means and has meant a lot to me. I will certainly do my best to keep everyone up to date as how I'm feeling permits. Rikki certainly is a great guy and a damn fine watch maker, thanks again for the welcomeness that I'm really starting to feel finally. I enjoy this forum so much.

Good morning to everyone on the forum and especially those that have taken the time to post in this thread. I wanted to give a quick update, and if it works post a link to the story they did on the procedure for the local FOX affiliate in Tampa post procedure. I'm doing pretty darn good for 3wks after. Immediately after the surgery I noticed i could take a deep breathe again! The increase in oxygen has shown itself truly in the last week. I have more energy, I did my own laundry today for the first time in at least a year and half. Showering has always been one of the hardest things for me after the heart attack, I think it came from the steam and heat and my inability to get a good deep breath. Now of course I never stopped showering, that's just a basic need but i dreaded it and it wore me out. I've noticed I'm no longer wore out from it. I can get that good deep cleansing breath again. My blood pressure is near perfect again. Hard to detect still for the nurses but it's getting stronger. The pulse in my feet, before the procedure was very hard to feel, the word they used after is that it's "bounding"!!!! I feel like participating more in my daily life instead of .... I just want to stay lying down. I've started to do small things, filling the bird feeder, doing a bit of light housework. Nothing major but things that I see as very encouraging for what might be. I keep praying that this will get me back into the office at some point. It's a lofty dream, and one that I know realistically I could never return in the same capacity and thankfully owning the place i wouldn't have to, but to even be able to contemplate being able to pull off maybe 5 hrs a day 3 days a week or even just going out of town to the auto auction and buying cars for us would be phenomenal for me. For now it's slow and easy but i can't express it enough how hopeful I am for what might be. I was at a point where i really questioned if I would be alive next year at this time. Now I can think about longer term. It's a wonderful feeling. Prayer and faith and attitude is key and I thank the forum for being a big part of my life this last year. I'm hopefully going to be able to post the link to the story not to tout me in anyway but February is Heart Awareness Month and someone may find the information useful for a friend or loved one, and please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions as i have done a lot of research on lots of different options and may be able to connect you with some of the finest doctors in the world that I've been fortunate to become close with.
