Took about a 4-5 foot spill backward off a ladder yesterday while working on my roof, landing on a concrete patio. I landed flat on my lower back and struck the back of my head. I knew I was hurt and at least (this time) had the good sense to not try to get up. As luck would have it my wife arrived home within minutes and heard my cries for help. Unknown to me I had a two inch gash on the back of my head and was lying in a small pool of blood. My dear wife screamed and said "OMG, what happened....are you OK?" My first response?........"It's OK. I took my watch off before I started and it's safe!"

After an ambulance ride, five hours in the ER, seven stiches to my head, a diagnosis of a minor compression fracture to my 12th thoracic vertebra and some good pain killers, I'm at home, a little sore, but will be fine. And, most importantly, my 216570 sits safely on wrist!

Wow, been there, done that... well not exactly but have taken my Sub off when I though that there might be trouble and sure enough trouble seems to find me! Sounds like a nasty fall, glad that you weren't hurt any worse. Here's to a speedy recovery.

Good to hear you're ok.....

A friend of mine slipped off a wet ladder whilst trying to clear a guttering blockage and managed to slip his leg through the ladder before he fell backwards......... clearly broke his leg just above the ankle at 90 degrees but what was worse was that he completely tore (almost shredded) his muscles by the ankle on the outer side of the break. He needed muscle grafts and all sorts of work done......3 years later, after numerous operations, he's still limping......and will never recover fully.

Beware those ladders........

Good to hear you've got your priorities in order.

Glad you are 'OK ish'! Sounds like you need to be made a big fuss of by the missus.
I recently received a rollocking from my eldest daughter for being up a ladder when no one else was around.
She said "you're MAD Dad". Yes, I told her, insanity is hereditary..............you get it from your kids.

Very glad that you are okay and that your 216570 is fine too. Those ladders can be treacherous. The other thing that seems to get me in trouble is that my 50+ yr old body doesn't do what my 17 yr old brain insists it can still do. I have to keep remembering that's what I have a teenage son for!

85 degrees TOTALLY acceptable, but 90 degrees Ouch, ouch, ouch!!!!
