Opinion on jubilee bracelet stretch
I sent off my two-tone oyster band to Michael Young and was quoted 8-10 weeks. I hope I get it back sooner but in the meantime I picked up an older jubilee band and was curious what you all think about the stretch.
Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Hold it up sideways. Only way to visualize stretch.

Bracelet shows some sign of wear but still life in it,but the longer you leave it more wear then its harder to repair to as good as new condition.

I would say it's at about the 50% mark. Certainly some time left there.

It looks to be approximately 42.5684% stretched, so plenty of life left.

I'd get it fixed now. Like Peter (padi56) said, the longer the bracelet goes without repair, the harder it is to get it to as-new condition. It's a cheap fix from Michael Young so I say why not.

I agree. Will keep this one. If I keep up ultrasonic cleanings I should get at least 5 more years before I will need MY. Besides, I have my two tone oyster band with MY right now, so this jubilee will probably only see about 20% usage in rotation with the oyster.

Jubilee bracelets, designed to be more flexible, always look more worn than their oyster brothers of similar age. Even when almost new, they hardly look as straight as a stick after a few months. That is one of the reasons why many people find them more comfortable.
Yours looks like a very reasonable specimen that could be worn daily for another 5 years before being sent to MY. If he would tell you how mine looked when I sent it... |
