Advice on 6202 turn-o-graph
Hi, all! This is my first post on the forum having been bitten hard by the vintage bug recently. Spending a daily hour on the forum during the last few months I've so-far managed to learn a lot (compared to what I used to know at least) about a few Rolex models of interest (basically 1665's, 1675's, 1680's, 5508-12-13's). Being very early in the learning curve, compared to the impressive knowledge of the members of this forum, I look forward to continue to learn a lot about vintage Rolex watches.
Starting to look into a new model and another potential "investment", I noticed this 6202 turn-o-graph on-line. Though it might look decent, from what I can tell based off my limited knowledge of 6202's, I am highly unsure about the bezel insert. Have any of you guys seen it before? As of now I havent contacted the seller (not wanting to bother the seller if the bezel insert is all off), so I havent got the serial number or any additional info on the watch, but I will investigate more if the insert turns out to be OK. Besides the insert I am much greatful for any input what so ever! |

Insert is not correct and aftermarket. Dial might be redone. How much is the asking?

That insert an bezel sure looks funky! ~ band appears quite stretched. For $14.500 I would definitely pass myself.

For that price, no...
Sourcing an insert and correct bracelet will cost you The dial is difficult to judge with these pictures |

The bezel set is very wrong ....
See this link showing a 6202 still sporting its original bezel and insert and a rivet bracelet. This fellow was asking US $15,200 (equivalent) which suggests the one you are considering is priced high.
http://www.network54.com/Forum/20767...h+6202+GILT--- I would probably steer clear of a 6202 that was missing its original bezel and insert - it can be a real challenge to source 6202 parts. That said, Jed sold a 6202 bezel (only) recently at a very fair £ 300 and I have a full set in my spares ( bezel, spring, original - poor condition -insert and a convincing aged, after-market insert). So, the parts do come available but I'd probably recommend that you wait for a more complete watch at a better price |

Thanks for some great advice guys, and the link Paul! I'll skip the watch and wait for a better specimen. Doing additional research I just saw a pristine looking 6202 bezel insert (supposedly original) being sold for EUR 5,5k! from a wintery Sweden

You are correct to pass. Insert is the rub, bezels are available, inserts way difficult! M
