I know this is damn hokey but the ticking of a watch is just a beautiful sound.

I woke up a bit early and as usual brewed a nice cup of coffee and put on my 1675. It was dead quite and as I sat there I could hear the heart beat of my watch clear as a bell. Amazing piece of work these watches are. Ticking along for the last 45 years and never missing a beat. Absolutely amazing.

Anyone else experience this?

BTW...Please don't tell me I shouldn't hear it and my watch needs to be looked at and needs a couple thousand dollars in service.

I agree - love it. I enjoy hearing my 1570/5's in the 1675 and 1680

there was a sound clip somewhere ,, a studio guy recorded a rolex , and added a few effects , it was really crisp ,, cant remember where though ,, but very mecusical ,,, sort of mechanical / musical.

i may have it saved somewhere ,,, it was quite interesting , sehn shotgun mic and an anoihc chamber ,,, added a bit of bbe sonic maxi , or the likes and a touch of plate , and it was actually quite musical ,,, i must have it somewhere ,,, be very surprised if it wasnt on the forum ,,, it was about three or four years ago.

Unfortunately the only sound I hear when dead quite comes form inside my head not inside my watch....

Often hear my 1675 when late in bed (though with my hands behind my head). A Beautiful and timeless sound indeed!

The intro to most of the videos posted on Hodinkee is just the sound of a mechanical watch ticking. Very well done.

They sound great, my fav are manual wind daytonas they're louder and really sound good.

I need a hearing aid to hear my watch tick away, even in a room without any noise! Grew up doing construction before all the OSHA regulations for hearing protection. My hearing is shot!!! Many a time my wife or kids say something and I hear something totally opposite of what is said!

İ definetly love this point...love to hear my redsubs and seadwellers tictacs...but nowadays appeared a problem and something wrong with my watches...the problem is,
When i turn my left ear to them i hear their tictacs..but when i turn my right ear ,the tictacs start to disappear..what could be wrong with them at the same time...i cant understand..

Must confess that my hearing isn't as sharp as it used to be - or has my 1675 GMT just got quieter over the years? Lovely sound, though - so sweet.
