Is this a service dial
Hi guys. Just wondering if this is a service dial on the 1680? It's a 1977 vintage with a 5 million serial number.
Thanks. |

Yes, it does appear to be one of the older service dials for the 1680. The newer service dials just have the "swiss" at the bottom.

If it still glows all night after your eyes have accommodated to the dark, it's a very late service dial. From as late as '98-99 , probably.

I agree, the colour is still pure white and crisp, hands are probably service parts to and the bezel

Sorry, but I disagree.
IMHO the dial is correct for a 1680 with 5 Mio serial number. What I can see from the picture it seems to be a MK II Dial produced by Beyeler. The shown dial has a relativly fat print, so I guess the "printing-tampon" was allready old/quiet used. A better picture would be helpful! Here's a "service-link" to the 1680 white dials: http://www.network54.com/Forum/20759...e+1680+details For comparision here's a picture if my 1680, 5 Mio MK II Beyeler Look at the font and the allignement. They seem to be the same! |

Just look at the crown and the alignement of the D and the E of the words chronometer and certified! Again. The dial shown by the thread starter is a MK II (from what I can see by this posted picture)! |
