A token of love
Hi everyone!
You might remember a while back that I was about to send my father's beloved watch in for a major overhaul. You see, the dial was becoming difficult for him to read as unfortunately he is pushing 80 years of age, and the bracelet was also about to give way. He has worn the watch since the day he received it in 1964 as a token of appreciation for his hard work. I am attaching pictures for you to see before and after. The bracelet was too far gone so it was replaced, we found a really nice dial for him, the mech serviced, case polished - in short, everything. I couldn't wait to pick it up from the RSC yesterday and put it on his wrist. His eyes misted and the hug he gave me made me wish I could turn back the clock and do it every day over and over again. I did the same with my departed grandfather's Omega Seamaster which I had restored by a well-known watchmaker in NY and which I put on my mother's wrist yesterday also on a leather strap (sorry the photo of that one was accidentally deleted so I'll post that one later). So there you go...I had two very emotional parents last night...The logical part of me thinks it's no big deal it's just a piece of jewelry but the emotional part of me says it's really a token of love. This small post is dedicated to tokens of love therefore for the people we care about. Let's do more of those... I wish you all the best. Manos |

That's fantastic, Manos - great looking watch and your father must be so happy with it. Also, it looks as though the RSC have done a superb overhaul job.
Congratulations!! Stan. |

What an awesome gesture. I wish I could do that for my Dad. RSC really did a great job, but you did a greater one.

One of the hidden beauties of our parents getting older is the love and respect we, as their childern, now give them. As I enter my golden years, I look forward to having moments with my kids just like the one you provided your parents with. Good for you and your parents.
