Rolex Production Numbers as Percentages

Does anyone have prod. numbers per year for individual models? for example the percentages of SD or Subs Rolex typically makes each year compared to total output ? Or is this info that Rolex keeps tightly controlled?

Exactly. No one but Rolex knows how many of the various models are made.

I have heard from AD and other sources that some models are "allocated," meaning that they only produce a fixed number of them a year. Obvious sport models include Daytona, Milgauss, and initially GMT2C's, and I have heard that the Submariner and Explorer II are now in the same category.

I suppose that you could assume that the iconic performance models like the SD, Subs and GMT get the lion's share of production while Rolex's business and evening models which are less appreciated get less. then again what am I talking about?? LA is full of gold DJ with President bracelets!! Oh nevermind.

I thought I was on to something.

I would guess that Rolex has a pretty good handle on what parts of the world, each country, and each locality, sell the most of which models.

For example, I wouldn't think that they would ship a bunch of iced up DJ's to Ozark Arkansas.

I have even heard that they are careful of what model numbers and serial numbers are sent to countries that are "number" sensitive...
