How do you store your watches

Finally starting to build a collection and got me to thinking, how to store them? What's the best way to make them easy to reach and distribute the wrist time. Do people have favorite watch boxes? Leave them on the dresser (ouch)?

Looking for ideas.

One of our members, Reu, just posted some info on some beautiful watch boxes from a UK company called Hillwood. Do a quick search and you should be able to find them. Definitely going to be my next watch box!

I keep 1-2 out in a winder, the rest in an aluminum travel case in a bank vault.

I store a couple loosely in the top thin draw of my night table, what I basically want to wear for the next day or so.

The rest go in a Pelican case in my safe.

I keep mine in a safe. I found that I was able to open the safe quickly after a few days.

I keep all except two watches at a time in the safety deposit box at my bank. Easy enough to stop by at lunch time to change out my weekly wearer or to just wind my watches as needed. I wind all my watches at least one a month just to give the spring a little exercise.

Two or three at home usually. The one I'm wearing goes in a drawer at night with the others in the safe. The rest are in the bank vault.

I keep them in bank safety deposit box that way they are truly safe! I live near bank so it is convenient and takes a 10 minutes to run in and out and swap. For me it is always better in the bank safe than sorry as you just never know in life. Cheers,

On a dresser in the bedroom pushed up close to the aftershaves/perfumes incase the cats decide to play with them. The Mrs puts hers in their boxes when not being worn.

I do live in a country with almost 0 house crime though

Lots of ingenuity here! Dan, love both the collection and the design. Are those pieces of foam pipe insulation that you use?

Yes, but borrowed the idea from a collector from another forum.

Cheapo black trays with a cuff for each watch. I have a homemade wooden shelf in my safe that the trays slide into. Not elegant looking, but very functional.

I have a half dozen of these solid wood boxes.. One for SS Divers, one for SS dual-time, one for Chronos, one for TT Divers one for Mickeys .. and so on.

They all reside on a shelf in a Liberty Floor Safe with 2 hr burglary/fire rating..

Love your "Mickey Mouse" collection, Larry! It must make you smile everytime you open that box! I know I did when I saw it!
