A couple of weeks ago I visited Baselworld and while I wasn't initially impressed with the new Rolex GMT-Master II Pepsi, it kind of made sense after week or so when I thought about.

I like the colors on the new bezel from the pics I have seen, a darker color palette. Unlike the colors of the blue/black.

Thank you for that comparison picture. The ceramic bezel is indeed very nice and the colors are quite crisp but I'm still a bigger fan of the aluminium insert.

Kudos to Rolex for bringing back this legend. They are following suit by testing the market's hunger for this watch by releasing the WG model...only to hopefully release a SS model next year like they did with the YM II.

I still prefer my 16750 on a jubilee bracelet. It just has that charm that the WG Pepsi has not earned yet.

I love the new Pepsi ceramic and I own a SS Pepsi now. Seeing them side by side makes me appreciate the SS version even more, especially if you consider the price difference

Now that I think of it, I agree with you. Does not seem smart to get into a pattern of releasing precious metal models, only to follow up the next year with a SS model. If they continue with this pattern, patrons will always wait the 12 months to get new models in SS.

Personally, I will always purchase SS Rolex; precious metals are just not interesting to me.

Love it and defintiely can see it in my future! I guess I am one of the only people who are quite glad they did it in WG. I think this makes it a truly special piece IMHO and one I have been excited about since it's debut. Thanks for sharing...Cheers,

I prefer the new ceramic bezel over the older aluminum insert. The colors look richer and more vibrant. The font is a little larger and more pleasing to the eyes. However I'm not a fan of the PCL's on this particular model and I love the versatility of being able to swap out the inserts on the old one. Much to like about both models but I'm gonna stick with my "Coke" for now.

I may be in the minority, but I like the WG Pepsi. I'd like it more in SS, but the WG is fine. However, I think Rolex should have gone all the way and offered it on a WG Jubilee bracelet!

Nice comparison pic. My thoughts are, love the WG but prefer the dial of the SS and I would get rid of the PCL's on the WG model. Will never be able to afford the WG.

Couldn't agree more. I can now appreciate the SS Pepsi version even more. Boy, they really got that right! However, in a few years perhaps Ill be able to find a pre-owned PepC for a more reasonable price.

Great comparison I have to say...

Personally I prefer my 16750 and classic Pepsi's to the WG version as I think they have more character with the nice patina and faded inset... WG pepsi seems abit sterile for me but that could change one I see it in person... Either way for me to purchase one I would have to part with my Smurf and at the moment I prefer the Smurf.. Thats my opinion though!!!
