Shipping fedex from USA to foreign country--declared values
Hello, I am in USA and sold an item for approx $1500usd to a buyer in Asia (buyer has strong feedback in high end Rolex purchases). Buyer has now asked that I show declared value of $100. Important to note he is paying via paypal; it's an eBay sale.
Can I still insure it through Fedex for $1500 in case it gets lost or otherwise disappears enroute, or can I only insure it for declared value? Anybody with experience in this scenario? If so, please PM or post up. Thanks very much; I appreciate it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Firstly... Sign up at jwls.com
Then, always declare correct value. Definitely overlay Insurance and demand signature by the paypal acct Holder, delivery to their verified addy only. Photograph Everything extensively. Good job. |

Agree wholeheartedly. If anything went wrong eBay would not stand by you if you falsified the export document. You would be the one holding the bag...I would decline the under-reported value and offer to unwind the deal now if the buyer doesn't like your honesty.

IBTL. From experience I don't think the mods take too kindly to trying to evade taxes.

Thanks guys. I have informed buyer that eBay and paypal policies require full declaration, and that I can't insure it via fedex opening myself up to full loss if the package goes missing.
Hopefully his strong feedback means he'll understand and we can successfully close this deal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
