Pricing At A A.D. In NJ/NY Area
Hi, new on the forum and I don't presently own a Rolex(or any other good watch). I'm looking for an every day, all occasion watch. Most of the time my dress and life style is very casual but I would still want to be able to wear it for a special occasion in a suit. I am leaning towards a no date sub or a datejust(prob. Black face). Any thoughts on this? My main question is buying it through an a.d. is there a reasonable chance that I can get it priced below the listed retail price or can I expect to have to pay full retail no matter which jeweler I go to. I'm a real newbie and so I am leery of buying it online. Thanks for any help and advice!

Hello and welcome to TRF! You really cannot go wrong with either watch it's just a matter of your personal preference. As for the ADs most will not give you a discount unless you have purchased from them before. Most here will recommend you purchase from one of our trusted sellers here on TRF! You should research them first however in the who's who. Plenty of watches here in the classifieds. Good luck in the hunt!

Welcome and much success in your search.
The question is your own willpower to hold out for the best deal. They negotiate multiple deals a day and you're going in without cost data. However, around a 15% discount ought to be possible.

I would say a trusted seller is your best bet too however I also was questioning making this purchase online as I had always dealt with AD's. Do what you feel most comfortable with.
As for discount and a first purchase from an AD my guess would be this would be more possible on the Date Just and very unlikely on a Stainless Sub. This again because this is your first purchase.

No to little discount on a popular SS model at an AD in my experience. Good luck and welcome!
