Next Purchase - HELP!

I'm considering my next Rolex purchase. I know this is a controversial topic, but this is mainly for investment. These are Rolexes I know I'll want in the future, but am not particularly lusting for now.

My current pieces: 116520 Black Dial, 116710LN

I'm looking at either the SS YMII, or a WG Daytona (probably Panda Dial)

These are the factors I'm taking into consideration, in order of importance:

1. Resale value
2. WG Daytona available far below MSRP, and the YMII is very expensive for an SS watch.
3. I really want to try out a full gold watch, the weight and wrist presence comments from TRF members are really whetting my appetite.
4. I already have an SS Daytona, I do not want to sell it but I know it'll probably not get any wrist time if I get the WG.
5. Relatively high possibility of WG Daytona being updated with a ceramic bezel soon.

Ideally another option would be a TT YMII, sort of a compromise, but I doubt it'll be good in terms of an investment.

Please help me out! The more detailed the reasons, the better, based on my five factors above, if possible. Please feel free to suggest other watches/brands as well.

Also, opinions on DD, soon to be released BLRO and Everose Daytona on strap please!

I am not sure which watch you should buy, but my observations are as follows:

1) I think that there is a high probability that all versions of the gold Daytona will have a ceramic bezel in the near future. Rolex is giving you a glimpse into the future with the platinum Daytona and the two RG versions (on strap) that have already been upgraded; and

2) from what I have seen, the YMII will hold its value LESS well than most other (more classic) models. The value on the SS in particular has continued to fall on the secondary market over the last few months. If resale value is one of your main criteria, stick with Sub/GMT/Daytona.

What about the DD?

Neither of these sound good as investment pieces as the WG Daytona will probably get a ceramic bezel soon, and the YM2 is polarizing and does not have a great following. I would suggest a preowned DD2 or YG GMTc as a great way to have gold on your wrist and with a high chance of at least retaining its value.

Between those two, I'd probably go for the DDII. what about the soon to be released BLRO?

If you are looking for a piece to enjoy, any of the ones you mentioned would be fine. I would go white gold Daytona, I don't like the YMII bezel.

If you are looking for an investment, a new modern Rolex (especially in precious metal) isn't the way to go. Go buy a red sub, or another piece that is no longer made, in great condition and stick it in a safe for 20 years.

i'd try the YM2 in all ss. its a wonderful piece never to be confused with anything else in watch-dom. congrats in advance with whatever you decide!

I keep trying to tell myself I'll beat the price increase whatever it is, but that's a poor justification for an "investment"...

I think a preowned one at a good discount would be a solid buy, but not new.

You have a SS Daytona, so I would go YMII SS it Is an awesome piece and would compliment what you have

I love my SSYMII but probably not a good watch for resale value. That being said, it's my favorite watch at the moment.

I really do like the SS YMII, but from what I'm seeing resale value isn't great. And I do want to feel gold's amazing wrist presence for the price.

I really like the TT YMII. The whole package looks great.

No idea from an investment perspective though.
