Sea-Dweller ref 116600 on RubberB?

Hi Guys,

Has anybody tried or seen a RubberB on the new Sea-Dweller?

I wrote to RubberB the other day, and they advised me that the strap for the Submariner C (ref 116610) is the correct one. Just want to make sure that it is the right choice before pulling the trigger ;-)

All the best

Can't say I know, but they deliver very high quality straps. I got one for my GMT IIc and is very satisfied.

If they say it's fitting the SDc I believe them

Any thoughts of trying it an Isofrane as well?

So I recieved the rubberB, and it does not fit. I got a call from them 2 minutes after I wrote an email to them, explaining that I couldn't get it to fit....
They are working on making a strap especially for the SDc :)

Any idea on how the isofrane would look while I wait for the RubberB?

I like rubber, have nothing against the material. But why, oh why would anyone replace the original Oyster bracelet with a rubber is beyond me.

One would consider to have the option to change into a strap that does not scream Rolex if one would like a less flashy look. (And I have to say that the Sea-Dweller-c is very low key to begin with) And also to be able to change the look of the watch entirely :-)

Well for me the SD both new and the old look better wear better on the original bracelet. And IMHO the RB strap is no better quality than the ones from Seiko or Citizen what are on there top dive watches.

^^^^^ This...slightly less bad than a NATO, but still nothing beats the Oyster.

I like the look of these straps and think they're a great option. Obviously not as good as the oyster but make a nice change.
I've just had an email back from rubber b and it looks as though they're getting a few more dual colour options.
They currently offer a black strap with a green stripe but come mid July they're adding a red stripe and blue stripe options.

My order will be for a black strap with red stripe for my black dial daytona. Should be good!!

I've tried the SDC on the isofrane. It's ok. For some reason I really like my dssd on an isofrane, but not totally sold with it on SDC. I'd be interested in a rubber b for the SDC if it were constructed to fit like the one for the dssd - with wider area at lugs.

My thoughts exactly! The bracelet is part of the beauty of the whole package.

If you truly use the watch in active manner through sports and around water, you would see the benefit of rubber or nato. Something with some stretch and also security around water. Prefer nato over rubber although the rubber b system provides security as well in its construction.

I like switching straps on my dive watches. Have DSSD, SubLV, Aquatimer, SMP - leather in winter, rubber in summer, and steel bracelet on occasion (except DSSD, leather and rubber year round. i hate the bracelet it came with). I use Isofrane with DSSD, SMP, SubLV. OEM rubber strap on Aquatimer. I really the different looks that happens when of different types of strap.

I love my oyster bracelet, but prefer to have something to change with.

Could you post some pictures of your DSSD on the Isofrane by any chance?

For me the Oyster bracelet is a little on the thin side so a thicker rubber strap can look better balanced, I had one on my DSSD and it looked a lot better, and a black one will pop the dial real nice.

I figured the Sub would fit but apparently not. I hope and pray they make it the same way they did for the Deepsea, with the edges flared at the end links making for more stable wear as the band is thicker and able to balance the thick watch better.
If they make it the same as the Sub it will be a huge failure and I won't buy it, Just get an Isofrane instead.

I grinded off sort of an edge on the inside of the endpiece to make it fit.

Yes, it was the strap for the SubC.
I don't have a picture, and I don't want to take of the strap right now. So I found a makro-photo on the net of the end-piece and marked the "edge" that has to be grinded off in order to make it fit :-) hope that's ok?

Wile I think the Isofrane looks great on almost any sport watch, for some reason, I don't think they look good on Rolex Oyster cases. Maybe something about the abundance of round elements on the dials clashing with the rectangular cut-outs in the Isofrane maybe.

It is. But the watch that it is securing is also quite pricey ;-)

With this and the SD Nato topic it looks as if the new SD has its own bracelet, well end links! As the 116610, 114060 and some previous Submariner models and the pre ceramic SD all could share the same bracelet!
