What a durable watch.. I love it

I bought this Rolex day date 18238 in December.
It replaced my old Rolex datejust, which I wore to death for about 5 years.
I work in an office, but I also do a lot out in the field. I was originally worried about the durability of the Day Date, scratches, dents, dings etc.
I have worn this watch everyday since December. It has been on my desk, digging trenches, fixing cars, mowing grass, in the sea, lifting gas bottles, walking dogs, building sheds, painting and it is as good as new.
It has also developed a lovely patina, see the image below.
Even though it has only been half a year, it has a long way to go, and I can't wait!
Long live the Rolex Presidential Day Date
Let's hear your Rolex daily wear stories

Awesome watch. Built like a tank and looks like a million bucks.

"Built like a tank and looks like a million bucks." That's really quite good. Rolex should adopt this phrase, if they haven't already and I've just missed it somehow. But it really does sum up the brand quite well.

The classic Rolexes IMO are some of the best and tough as nails.

I have the same model and did use it like you. No problems at all with it, apart from the lugs getting polished to shine by my heavy leather jacket. Had them redone and it's good as new with a comfortable stretch on the bracelet. Great all time classic, good anywhere, anytime.

Of all the watches I own it's the Rolex watches that I don't pamper.

I'm always a little confused when a Rolex owner calls some other watch his beater.

When you own a Rolex, you don't need a beater.

A beautiful watch and I admire your putting it to work. I take off my Explorer when I take out the trash, got to get over that!

Good for you; wear it and enjoy it.

My DD is bark finished and i do fret about the soft gold and bark finish not standing up so the SS models take up that duty.
