A short lesson to all from day date collector of diamond set models

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SUPER PRESIDENT,
almost any watch i have seen described is all aftermarket

the band is called super karat if it has diamonds, president refers to the band style and often used to name the watch incorrectly, its called a day date, somehow the word super from super karat merged across with it's other nickname president. The watch is a day date, Crown collection if real, secondly if real people will state its a crown collection as they are worth a lot more and have a unique reference number to identify them. just my quick two cents, i really hate to see people fall for this stuff time after time.

Lol, I know you don't fall for this stuff Marc.

To all Rolex do not make a fully paved band like this, only the centre links.

Lol. The story is true. I have no reason to make this up. To clarify on Saturday after testing at bracelet and figuring out it was 14. I went to two stores to double check. Then ended up calling seller who promised he would give me my money back. He took watch from me and said he had had another buyer and would sell it next day and give me my money. Anyways. I don't need to defend myself, I just want to clarify those that helped because it did help me calm down.
I know I messed up. I also didn't mean literally he was my best friend just that he seemed like an honest guy and when it came down to it he wasn't. I'd rather if he had told me the truth and I still would have been interested in the watch but valued it accordingly. My lesson was learned, those with the conspiracy theories need to relax. No reason for me to make this story up, I have receipts and paperwork to document and I also let those who were interested where it happened know the place through pm.

I found this watch listed on Kijiji Toronto buy and sell online classified.
It's the same watch for sure. Can't be more than one of those butt ugly insults to Rolex.
The seller lists the watch online as having an 18kt case but a 14kt bracelet and claims it to be authentic.
The watch isvnowblisted as no longer available.

ya exactly chris, that's cuz I took it back from him. That was the modified ad with 14k bracelet after I figured that out... When I saw the ad I decided I should just take it back as I didn't trust leaving the watch with him any longer.... whatever life goes on...
It's a matter of taste, some people appreciate the diamonds and the work that goes into it that makes it unique... anyways i'm not here to defend or not, each person has their own tastes, the watch is OBVIOUSLY modified. I personally like it as it's unique and it's suitable for certain occasions..... No one's perfect, learned from mistakes and move on. Instead of crying about loss, I'd rather put effort into something productive. Once again, I only went this much into detail in gratitude to those that gave me some good advice on valuation through the thread and PM.

Are you sure the diamonds are real?

At least you'll own a good reminder of the perils of buying things at pawn shops and I'm sure you'll do a lot of research before your next big purchase.

I used to be an impulse buyer, but after a few (much less expensive) but also poor purchases, I've tamed my ways.

So there's hope.

Enjoy the watch!

Thank you. The conspiracy stories actually became entertaining to me and made me keep coming back lol.....

I have another story which I'll share one day about my bad experience at a local auto shop and maybe that'll explain why I gave up on the CDN police and legal system.... It's probably much crazier then this story, but no heart or patience to let it out now... or to listen to more conspiracy theories LOL

ya definitely real and tested and worth some money.... Ya i'm sure everyone's made a mistake at some point and learned from it. You can't win every time, that's the risk involved which I knew when I was buying.

Tom is right - leave the guy be. He sounds like he has a sense of humor and the right attitude; he has also ignored a lot of ribbing.

To the OP - best of luck and stick around.

We have all been there (not really, but I'm trying to make you feel better). Admit to yourself that you took a major hit, learn the lesson and then move on...

How do you consider a modified DJ movement to be a "real" if it's been "converted" to a DD movement?

Clearly the watch isn't what it is reported to be by the Shop. Frankly I'd never purchase something like that using cash. I've bought some dogs too but because of using credit cards/PayPal I've been protected and was able to return them. I'm surprised Rolex doesn't have a dog in the fight considering that the Shop was using their name to sell product that they didn't manufacture. I know that with other manufacturers that sort of thing get support especially when not sold through their sales channels. The other avenue might be Police action for selling forgeries/counterfeit goods. That can't be a good thing in any jurisdiction.

At the end of the day all that really matters is you're happy with the watch it's a shame people have to take advantage of others and to me even worse that people have to make fun of someone else's misfortune. I'd like to think we are all out here to share our passion for All things Rolex and offer fellow members advice, opinions and support when needed.
All I know is that for me when I put on my Rolex I feel like a king and I appriciate all of the knowledge, advice, opinions and support I have recieved in the short time I've been a member and I look forward to the lively discussions that take place out here.

Right now and for the past 2 years I've been a full time care giver for my 81 year old Mother In Law so I'm housebound with her while my wife works.
For me this is not only a place to discuss and share my Passion for Rolex but this is my social network and it keeps me sane. Sorry for the rant...

I think ths thread has been beaten like a dead horse and it's time to move on.
