Icon15 424 is dead! Long live the 424!

In an unexpected move, OP has dropped the date from the 424, but, in a revolutionary move for Panerai (), the no-date 424 is keeping its model number!

NEW 424:

OLD 424:

Have to wonder what owners of the 376 think.....

Actually prefer it with the date... it was quite classy with it and who doesn't need a date function???

Uh oh--here we go...

Well, I like either. Still think the 424 is sweet looking!

Now, if it had a 6497, I'd buy it.

i like the no date better but they should come up with something better than to just remove the date.

it is draining my energy

Wow, that is quite a surprise but perhaps, like the 111 / 112 (dial changed from stuffed to sandwich) they consider it a permanent change of the original. for some, like myself, a change for the better

Still, I'd rather have the 448 (blue hands) and frankly-speaking, I'd take the 376 with traditional white hour markers over both (if it were only in SS...).

Thanks for the heads up, Cru!

The date did not bother me though I do prefer it without it. I can't decide if I like the logo on the dial though

I really love it. I love the 448 so going no date on the 424 is just perfect

I like the version without the date. I've tried the previous on though and did not like the way it looked on my wrist.

assuming gold hands aren't "needed", 249 is the way to go, IMHO --- nice and thin (compared to the in-house versions) and with a time-tested, reliable and easily serviceable movement. plus, no "california" engraving.
