Springbar tool name + story behind

So instead of using my burgeon (correct me if it's misspelled) cause I was having trouble taking one end off first. I guess I'm no expert in this.

I took it to the AD and they had a wonderful tool. It had both ends and it looked like a clamp. Able to take both ends of the spring bar at once!

Can someone tell me the name of this tool and where I can get it? I feel ugly always walking into an AD without the intention of making a purchase.

Today I had a bad experience when I walked into the AD with my sub on a Zulu. The guy looked at my wrist and I said I wanted my bracelet back on and asked if they had the tools. The guy said we don't have the tools and followed up with a question asking what brand my watch was.

At that point I just wanted to keep playing along since I had my watch face down and he was only able to see the Zulu. At that point another sales came over and said he had the tools and fixed it in 2 minutes.

When I left I really wanted to go back to the other salesperson and say how rude and impolite he was. Judging by a Zulu and thinking it's not a Rolex.

The tool is part of a resizing kit. The tool is a 3200. Unfortunately you can't buy one. The kits are found for sale here from time to time. Here's one now:

Someone is selling the tool you are looking for over at VRF…They are NOT cheap…!!!
Better to practice with what you have…It's really not that hard to do...

Thanks so much Michael. I would like to know where I can get this 3200 tool. I read online they're not easily sourced. Any ways of getting it without having to purchase the whole kit?

I have been using a $10 knock off of a bergeon tool for 10 years, no issues at all, would never consider spending $800 on items that can be had for less than $50 and do the exact same job. Sorry Jeremy, JMHO

Adam. By the way it happened in TST in Hong Kong. Quite sad how it's unwillingness to serve someone who they think has no potential to buying a watch. Just cause one likes to wear NATO doesn't mean he can't afford a Rolex or be served with respect.

Yup it is awesome, and I know you didn't spend $800 so not really the tool I'm b*tching about it's the price of the kit. I realize I'm coming off like a cheapskate but take the Rolex name off of it and the green box and calculate the relative cost of each item separately.

I'm not denigrating anyone who owns one, buys one, or loves them, I'm just choosing not to spend my money on a brand name tool set, and hoping to convince others to do the same!

It doesn't seem like a very complicated thing to do. I am thinking of taking a pair of tweezers, bending them into shape and then filing down the ends. Of course, that would be the ghetto version. I'm sure Manny could come up with something a lot nicer.

If you're very, very, very good friends/customer of an AD they can order one for you. There's at least one member here that did that.

Yes, but it's ½ the price of the Bergeon equivalent and a good investment if you plan to remove/install SEL end links without scratching the lugs (and all the obscenities and obsessing over self-made scratches)

Hong Kong ADs are in the business of shifting units, and not much else. They don't have watchmakers on site, and are generally not too customer-oriented compared to their overseas counterparts.

That said, from your post all I see is that one salesman asked you what watch you were wearing and another one changed your bracelet. I'm not seeing much of a problem here. Is there more to this?
