Random Serial question

I have searched the forum and I think found my answer but I guess I'll just ask to make sure. I just bought a SubC with a random serial. Is there any way to tell what the production year was? It doesn't seem like I can.

Thanks in advance.

No, only Rolex knows.

The only thing is the code on the clasp and the bracelet which says something about the date of manufacturing of the parts.

All any serial could ever tell anyone was that the case/clasp was stamped between X&Y years not not a exact year when watch was made, plus many serials overlap a year or so.Now both G single letter serials total 7 digits, plus the so called random serial total 8 digits both started latter part of 2010 till present time. Now how old the movement in the case well only Rolex knows that one and they are not made to order for any particular case.So the movement the main bit could be weeks, months, or even years old before its matched to any case.

It depends on the model, newly intro'd ones like the 114060 are easier to pin down especially if you've got the warranty card. My warranty card was from 2012 when the model intro'd.
