If it is the all YG bracelet and not the strap it is a decent deal although as soon as it is worn resell will go down as everyone will just think of it as another k not a new watch.

Tom,
Your one of the nicest guys on this forum, go for it my friend, you deserve a bit of gold in your life and the combination you describe is an all time classic, I do not think it matters it's new old stock, it sounds beautiful and I am looking forward to seeing some wrist shots!

I'll be the voice of dissent and tell you not to do it. Get a 16528 (Zenith movement) black or white dial instead...preferably with the inverted 6.

You should be able to get a clean example for roughly the same price, potentially less.

And you'll have something more rare, valuable and historic, too.

The old gold sports models are one of the last areas of vintage collecting that haven't gone completely nuts yet...but they are getting there fairly quickly.

Thanks for the advice. Are you talking about a gold Zenith for a similar price?

for 20k I would get a preowned meteorite....but 20k is a lot of money for just one watch.

Yes. A clean gold Rolex 16528 Daytona with the Zenith movement (the ones with the full gold bracelet) with white or black dial can still be had at that price or less...generally less as of a month or two ago.

The champagne dial ones, or ones with diamonds, are substantially cheaper - $15K or so. The champagne dial isn't so great looking...and the ones with diamonds (and I mean real Rolex diamonds) don't seem to be as desireable...guessing maybe people just want a clean look on the watch?

I've watched my 16528 do nothing but appreciate substantially since I got it last summer.
