There were 3 AD's that had the 14060M in stock, that I knew of...
1. La Difference
2. Humbertown
3. Knarr Oakville..
The OP can send you a PM Chris.. ;-)

I dont know what to tell you other than to take the watch in and explain whats going on with it. They most likely aren't going to provide a new watch, sadly to say. As most have said, the warranty will cover it. Smile..it will be ok. :-)

My 14060M quit winding and I couldn't move the hands backwards. To top it off, there was something loose in the movement. The watch is worn probably twice a month in the rotation and is in great condition. With less than 2 months remaining on the original factory warranty, I dropped it off at RSC Dallas....Received it back in just over 2 weeks, it was obviously repaired and a full service performed. NO. BIG. DEAL. Even received a cool travel pouch.

Crap happens. It'll get fixed.

I love all the "Be a man!" comments. Very manly.

Wow . . . a little brusk on a guy who just dropped serious coin on a Rolex watch and all the expectations that should legitimately come with it. And the "be a man" BS, - nothing like on-line courage.

Chances are the AD won't be able to get you another Bnib 14060m. Just send it off for repair.

Would it be too much to ask if you could post a picture of your Sub?

I'm with Larry on this.

Take your Rolex back to where you bought it.

Explain the situation.

After repairs THEN join The Rolex Forums and tell us about the outcome.

Looks to me that all you have done so far is guess the outcome without even discussing it with the AD.

Banging on as a first poster about how unhappy you are and your entitlements etc. will not fix the situation you have and in some ways may be detrimental to you should you take some of the advice you have been given.

I had a problem with winding a 14060M six months after I bought second hand from the States. It was a K**, it was 6 years old and had been serviced in the States 14 months before I bought it.
I took it to the RSC in Melbourne and they fixed it for free and posted the watch back to me (in another State) at no charge.

As for the age of the watch I am sure that are a lot of members here who would jump at the chance of buying a BNIB 14060M. Such is the popularity of this model.

Welcome to the Forum Doc.

Well said Tom! I agree I would be disappointed but it is just a watch, get it fixed and move on. This is why everyone needs several Rolex watches in their collection for these exact situations That being said sorry to hear you are having troubles as Rolex really is an amazing brand and piece overall!

In after thought...

Just like asking a car dealer for a new car if your new one broke down once; Let us know how it works out for you.

Sounds like it's misrepresented by the AD - perhaps the mainspring broke but a quick trip to RSC and watch will be as good as new.

Sorry to hear it - any compensation should be discussed with your AD IMHO

Best of luck and don't let this sour you on Rolex!

I disagree.

Given that you have this expectation, your best bet is to see if you can convince the dealer to buy your watch back, just this once, and then not get another Rolex. I say that because it will be the same everywhere. A 5 month old Rolex that quits running goes in for warranty work, not replacement.

Thanks for all the comments. The reason why I posted before going to the AD is my watch broke on saturday, AD close sunday, monday, tuesday. I was kind of stuck with no-one I could really talk to. I'll bring it in tomorrow morning and let you all know about the outcome.

Good Luck!

IMHO, the AD should do something special to make you happy, like offering a discount on your next buy or something, but I doubt that you get a replacement.

So try to get something out of the AD - like a huge discount or something, and have your watch repaired by RSC.

update...

i went to my AD today, they were quite rude and not helpful. They said there's nothing they can do but ship my watch to the RSC with no estimate on how long it would take to get fixed. They then said maybe I should go to the RSC directly to see what they can do. I went to the RSC and wow was I pleased... watchmaker took my watch in, told me it was a loose screw and it would take 20-30min to fix. Ended up replacing the screw, polishing up the watch and now looks brand new. They even threw in a free leather wallet. Watch looks and works great now. I will never deal with or buy anything from this AD in the future.

Happy to hear it's fixed, and so quickly! That's the perks of living near the RSC I guess.... I didn't think it would have been anything major!
What the AD told you does not seem unreasonable however, but if they were rude, I understand your annoyance. I guess they lost a customer...

Move on and enjoy your Sub.

Dollars to donuts, my bet is humbertown. The owner likes to keep NOS watches and charge an arm and a leg for them. When I bought my 16610 from them, I found that it was missing a link for some reason. The owner ordered me one, but mentioned that if they had another 16610, then they would have taken it from the new watch. Raiding new watches does not sit well with me.

I have never heard anything good about them.
Rolex Canada wouldn't be happy, they could end up like La Swiss

Yeah, killed me to give them money. They were the only AD that had the watch I wanted, so I paid through the nose and vowed never to go back there.
