Oh, just some cheap one that no one ever heard of. I'll be happy to take it off you hands for $100 USD, just to help you out
Okay, the experts say fake so I withdraw my offer. Sorry. |

What your dad has, is a cheap knockoff worth nothing.

The Daytona. One of the most replicated Rolex!
Is there are good kind?? They are worthless, and in violation of copyright laws......

It looked awful.
All wrong, nothing good. The subdials being absolutely not what an original would show is the icing on a turd cake. |

There are plenty of pictures here on TRF and around the internet of real Rolex Cosmograph Daytona watches for you to compare yours with.
There are a whole lot of things that signal the fact that the watch is not authentic and the most noticeable to a novice would be the sub-dials. As just a hint, the Daytona is a chronograph that is essentially a stopwatch. The sub-dials measure seconds, minutes and hours. Look closely at yours and see what is measured on the sub-dials. That should explain why we know it is fake, among other less noticeable things. http://www.rolex.com/watches/cosmogr...15ln-0004.html

It's pretty simple really. It was made to look like a Rolex Daytona, which is a chronograph watch that has a stop watch and cumulative time functions where the sub-dials are used to track units of time.
The watch you pictured has sub-dials with completely different functions (day of the week, date, etc.) Rolex NEVER produced such a watch. Sorry, but that's the deal. And given that it's a counterfeit it's doubtful it contains any precious metal to speak of. Edit: Oops Grady, don't know how I missed your comments. Didn't mean to step on your post with essentially the same info. My bad.

Lucky for you... That cheap knockoff would fool about 80% of the people in the world... but no one on this board... That's not even a good fake!

Total fake, don't know why anyone would need pics of clasp to determine that.

A little off topic.
Don't you guys worry that these pools of information are later used by fakers to create better fakes? No offense to the OP. I haven't been here long, but I have seen a bunch of topics like that, with accounts that never post again afterwards. |
