Anyone experience? AP stop working :(

Not sure if I am unlucky or it's just unrealiable...

Had a brand new volcano previosuly, bought it brand new and stopped working after 1 week, sent back to authorised dealer and got a refund back coz I am not willing to wait for 12 weeks to get it repaired.

Now it happened again. Bumblebee completely stopped after only 1.5yrs. Sent back to service centre, claimed that 'oil runs dry' and have to wait for 8 weeks to collect it back. Luckily it is under warranty, otherwise it is another unncessary cost.

Been telling myself....this could be the last time I go close to this brand.

I sent a 26400 for an unrelated issue and ended up with a full service because of the oil problem as well. All under warranty and no problems. I think it took four or five weeks. No big deal.

After 6 APs I've never had one stop but 2 did run fast. I got the same "oil ran dry" explanation. I think that's just what they say. The good news is they will do a full service and in my case it only took a few weeks and they extended my warranty by 2 years. Both watches have been perfect since.

It will be a big deal when it is out of warranty and repair bill ranked up thousand of dollars.

Not necessarily. If it is a problem that is warranty related (such as dried oils in between the recommended service intervals) normally AP will do the right thing even if the warranty is expired. YMMV. Their customer service and level of product support is second to none.

well i think it takes awhile to work out the "bugs"

Ive also had two 3126 watches that would stop intermittently due to 'oil drying out'

after it was serviced ( at no cost ) it was running perfect

I'm two years in on the first, second one is 8 months in, and both working flawlessly.

My 15300 failed very soon (wheel unescrewed) when new and, then again, had serious accuracy issues 3 years later. However, my Safari -based on the same caliber 3120- is flawless.

Buying a luxury product and have to rely on luck for its quality

Both my APs, A RO and an offshore, have had quality issues.

AP's quality and QC does not live up to its fame as it should!
