Whats in the Box

Hey I have seen some posts about different models of Rolex's receiving different items in there boxes. I recently bought a YM and was wondering what I should of had in there. The main reason I am asking this is because right off the bat I need an extra link and at one AD the first link was free for a jubilee bracelet, but since this is a YM should it have an extra link too?

How many links do you have and how many do you think it should come with it?

You got the right number of links.

I had to order an extra link and paid for it. $45, or in that neighborhood.

My platinum YM came with 13, so you may be missing a link.

Johnny wants to play what's in the box?

With the way the forum runs with a topic
This could take some hilarious direction.

How are you counting the links.

I think I was incorrect in my initial answer, but in order to get 13 links, you must be counting the ones that join to the case. I was only counting the links that did not join the case and didn't count the one that is a permanent part of the clasp. Even then I was wrong: there were 11.

At my AD. I had only purchased the YM a couple of weeks prior.

I do know that they were quite nice about it. The link to my GMTIIc cost me $90 from another AD, and my newest cost $93 for my SS Daytona, even though it is identical to the YM link.

There are two links that join the bracelet to the case, 5 additional links, and a half-link permently attached to the clasp. By the way, my extra link was an SS. I have no idea what a TT link goes for.

I did it again.

I'll get it right yet. Two links attached to the case, 11 additional links, and one half-link attached to the clasp. That's before my addtional link added later.

What is in the box (accessories) seems to depend on where in the world you are.

For instance, in Europe, customers NEVER get a Rolex polishing cloth and also not the "Rolex Service booklet". There also exists a bigger passport holder in cardboard for the certificate that European customers don't seem to get. We get a smaller one, in leather.

A typical full package for the YM in Europe would be:
  • Outer cardboard sleeve (white)
  • Outer box (very light green cardboard)
  • Inner box (green with plastic wavy lines on the lid)
  • The Rolex YM watch including its bezel protector and plastic wrappings on casesides and links around and under the clasp
  • Suede cloth cover for the watch
  • Suede pillow for the watch
  • Hangtag, green with serial number + bracelet ref. number on it
  • Red COSC hangtag
  • CCC certificate (plastic credit card certificate)
  • Leather holder for the CCC
  • Booklet "Your Rolex Oyster" + "The Rolex Yacht-Master"
