Incoming, got my dad a little something
Seeing as how I was having all the fun in the Rolex world, I figured I'd let my dad in on the action. He's going to be my best man next year and has been my best friend all my life. We're in Dublin at the moment and got a good deal at a local AD. Can't wait to see my dad wear this for years to come!

That's wonderful, and be prepared to feel great about yourself and your relationship every time you see it on his wrist.
I did something similar this year, my mother loves watches but doesn't like to spend money on extravagant things, so since it was her 60th birthday ON mother's day, and I should probably call more than I do (lol) I bought her a brand new stunning datejust. She was blown away, and still tells me how much she loves the watch. Once you get your own wrist sorted out, nothing feels better than giving to those you love. You only live once!

Very nice gesture!
About 2 years ago I purchased a Milgauss for my Grandfather for his 80th birthday (he's a retired electrical engineer)... it was an awesome experience, honestly got more enjoyment out of giving him a watch than I ever have acquiring one for myself!

Of all the current Rolex models, this is the most "classic" feeling, IMO.

Very touching. Instead of father to son, it's son to father. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Your dad's going to love it.

A great gift to your best friend and dad.
I gave my oldest son my very first Rolex auto, a R serial tt Thunderbird, a GMTII-3186 to my youngest son. Felt so good to give them their own Rolex and both appreciated that they were worn and loved by me and not store bought gifts. |
