That's old news. The 16710 model is being discontinued (all bezel colors). Or it's already discontinued.

I talked to an AD that told me the old GMT II's were on the new price list that Rolex sent them. He believes they are still in production b/c they have been receiving M serials from Rolex..............

I went to the dealership 2 days after that and the watch was sold to a private collector. Right now they have two new m serials at the display window waiting and they are without an engraving

The price is 4750 euro for a brand new GMT 16710 m series. The ones that they had on display where not engraved. I mean i look at other people here saying that their ad's ship their watches to other states or the other part of the country that they live in and in some cases the AD itself will take the car and bring the watch to your house and i feel like i live in a 3rd world country when it comes to watches. Not to mention the cases where the AD offers chocolate or coffee here the only think that offer you is information which most of the times it's incorrect. The ad that i bought the watch from was trying to convince me that the watch that i bought has the 3185 movement i mean what the hell

I asked my AD about this. They said that 16710 can still be ordered, but there's no guarantee that supply will be there. They added that there are no more being made, but stock is still available It's sounds like a long way of saying he wasn't sure He did have several in stock though, both Z and M serial numbers.

Buddy, it seems that the AD's in Greece are about as useful as the ones in UK.
Good luck with your degree...get saving for our overpriced economy! J |

My speculation to why there are M serials seen of the older 16710 is because they were being produced in conjunction with the newer 116710 as a purpose of experimenting the new movement with the blue hairspring. Yes, I believe that M serial 16710's have the caliber 3186 in them.
A watch that is an M serial DOES NOT necessarily mean that it was just produced recently. Some of the earlier M series models might have already been produced over a year ago before the Basel 2007 show and before the 16710 was "officially" discontinued. Right now there are no more 16710s coming out of the factory. This is my 2 cents.

Only time will tell though if the last of the 16710s will skyrocket in value like most of the Vintage Daytonas did.

I went into the Rolex shop in London today to ask about GMT availability. The guy said that they had not had one for months as they were discontinued last year.

Thats a good question, I probably would hold on to it because to me, the value of the watch does not really matter. A watch like that would always be priceless to me no matter how much people say its worth. Plus, I'm usually a keeper when it comes to watches that I purchase. I still have my first Rolex to this day. I buy for the long term and I try reeeeeeeeeeally hard not to flip them.
