Montblanc Starwalker Fineliner
Well, I need a new pen. This pen i had for 8 months or so and decided to leak onto my shirt (shirt ruined) mont blanc fixed it - No complimentary ink cartridges, no apology, no nothing. And no replacement of shirt - Maybe I'm just being cynical and expecting something for nothing but a pen where i paid over 260gbp should not leak - aybe i should of stuck with my 18p BIC
I need a new pen, Any suggestions - I do however like the fine liner nib Thanks |

Hi mini, sorry you have to experience that unfortunate event. I own one myself and touch-wood, haven't had any issues with it. It isn't standard policy that Mont Blanc attended to your concerns the manner which they did to yourself. I live in Australia, and compared to Singapore, the staff in the Australian boutiques are not only highly professional, but extremelly helpful as well as friendly. Singapore, not too happy, I got a pen from there, and the manager was looking at me as if I was going to steal something there. I mean come on I am buying a pen off you. The staff who sold me the pen was polite.
Well if you like to try Calligraphy, you may enjoy a suitable fountain pen. I do suggest however that no matter what you buy, definately pick up, hold the pen, and do not buy something you are not permitted to write with. You need to write to test the nib, the flexibility of the nib, the comfort and ease of use. Write something fast, then slow, try your signature, try a phrase, write vertical and horizontal strokes. It is a nice perhaps welcoming change. |

I understand your concerns. I got my MB Nib repaired after a colleague dropped it. They repaired it but not a great job and the nib lost its colour. They were polite and I have sent it back. Waiting to see the outcome.
When I purchased it I asked for the Royal Blue cartridges and they put the Midnight Blue ones in. I called the botique and they apologised and express posted out the Royal Blue ones. 2 weeks later I received a handwritten note about my purchase. From experience MB has great service. Im sure if you asked they would of given some cartridges. As bling said. Perhaps a Fountain Pen is the go now |

Ive had mine for about a year now, as yet no problems apart from when a colleague left the lid off overnight thinking it was a ball point (seems to be a theme occurring don't let them use it), i preferred the rollerball to the fine liner, it just seemed like i was writing with a whiteboard pen with the fine liner.

Well I have both now. I got the Starwalker Fineliner, which I may add you can still get the Lavender Purple ink cartridges, which I can say with confidence a beautiful colour to write on. Everyone who I have shown this at work, adore it.
I recently purchased a Mont Blanc Meisterstuck 90th Anniversary LeGrand Red Gold broad nib. I enjoy writing with it even more, it is so easy to write with, so smooth, and I do like their fountain pen inks. However from another forum I have read, Mont Blanc removed the Lavender fountain pen ink bottles from their stores because they were not satisfied with the 'permantcy' attribute of that particular ink. Whether they bring out a replacement lavender ink remains to be seen. I hope that they do, they will sell like hot cakes.
