Do you use the laptimer on your car frequently?

Instead of the sports chrono

I use this for

G Force

1/4 mile time

1/8 mile time

0 to 60

0 to 100

breaking from 100 to 0

breaking from 60 to 0

accurate within 1/1000 of a second of Indy or Daytona Speedway

GT2 from Escort

Great great accelerometer.

I use the sports button (part of the chrono package) to get the 505 ft lbs of torque tho.

this GT2 starts up automatically when the car moves, amazing how it works..

and everything gets downloaded into your laptop if you want for comparison.

I couldnt believe just how sophisticated this instrument is.

also keeps top speed on a trip but that gets ERASED!! just in case.

like having a black box in your car, which is already there somewhere..

Thanks a lot for the info

PS with that car you must be sure that you erased the top speed during a trip

I can just imagine getting stopped and saying "NO I wasnt speeding" and the GT2 is spotted by the Ticket Writer and taken in for evidence,, showing i was going 170 mph,, thats not good for me... so, i have to figure out how to neuter this thing in 2 seconds if need be.. I definitely dont want to be my worst enemy in this scenario.

You'll have to trust me. You can't see the wheel, but I was waiting at a traffic light when I made this one. The dial in the photo is currently in my safe; not on my watch.

With the right gearing (3:08 or 3:38) it would, Velitsko, assuming that '63 has the 360 FI or 340 hp engines. Not sure I would want to be in the car at 160mph though.
