Finally! Picked up my white ss daytona!
I was on the waiting list @ Wempe (manhattan) for 4 months. It was a good experience overall - including a mini-bottle of Veuve for me and the GF, and then another another one for the road (the walk). My only complaint is that I wish my random serial number started with a # instead of a letter. Which is "U". It has 8 digits, including 2 letters. My concern is that someone naive might mistake it for a 1997 rolex at some point in the future. Anyway. It is lovely & I think I'm going to love it!

Big congrats. Wempe rocks. Don't get concerned with the U, there are other letters in the serial number to make it "random"

Congrats and no way anyone will mistaken yours for a 1997 since the seconds subdial on the zenith movement is at 9 o'clock and brushed lugs etc etc

Sweet.....don't worry, that model Daytona wasn't around in 1997...the Zenith was. Furthermore you just keep your dated warranty card with your box. Enjoy

Thanks. Yeah, the seamaster was everyday for 10 years - time to class it up. :). I also think I need a new camera -wow- nice close ups.

What a beautiful watch
Don't be concerned about the serial. Mine starts with a Z and has 8 digits. Any serious watch buyer will know by that point it isn't a 97 watch. All they would have to do is see the magnetic strip card to know it is at least 2013 onwards. Then they just flip it over and see the date written on by the dealer :) |

White Daytona is alright.
jk, it's a beauty! 4130 movement is amazing, mine gain +18 sec in 16 days. I'd say it's pretty accurate Congrats and enjoy it every day in great health. |

Nice! Wempe called me last Monday saying they had one on stock and it was my turn (almost 10 months on the "list" ) . I sourced one elsewhere last year so I told them I was going to pass.
If it was the same piece I am glad it went to another TRF member. Enjoy it. |
