Black Bay Crown Stem

Anyone else love the black bay but simply can't stand the crown stem?

Is this a simple fix for any watch smith to switch it out with a watch stem that would cause the crown to sit flush against the case?

Are you talking about the red barrel?

I don't mind it to the point of modding the watch, but I agree it would look better without it.

Looking at pictures...yeah, that would drive me nuts. It reminds me of all the vintage watches I have collected with poorly fitted replacement crowns. I would want to fix it, and it ain't even broken!

I hardly even notice it, and when I do, I really appreciate that it is a perfect match to the bezel. I like the combination.

^^ everyone has their personal preference. I just hate it personally and would've purchased the watches months ago if I knew for certain that this could be fixed. Maybe a call to ABC watchworks is warranted.

Even if it was to be changed it would compromise the water resistance

I'm not sure this is true. I read somewhere on the internets that the colored tube is purely cosmetic and not functional. And if you read it on the internets, it must be true!

I'm sure that the firms who modify watches could come up with a tidy looking solution.

I think it works better on the blue because the BB blue has a more modern vibe, and the blue doesn't jump out quite as much as the red. That being said, I don't mind it on either one.
