Finally got Smart

Some of you guys are probably aware of my long going saga with my old man and my WG DD2.

It is with pure joy, for us both, that he wears my watch. However, he has made it clear that I am not getting it back.

I debated many times getting a new one. I just could not justify doing it as then at some point, I would have 2 WG DD2's. That just does not make a whole lot of sense to me. Not that I tend to make a lot of sense, but I am sure you get what I mean.

So after much watch perusing, and yes various flipping (i won't even go into detail as my reputation is already bad enough), I ended up getting a YG version delivered from DavidSW today. My father always has, and always will prefer YG. He wore mine because he loved the watch and loved that he was wearing his sons watch. I bought this new one, knowing that I very much love the watch, but that most likely, he would be relieving me of it.

The first thing I did, when I got it this morning was snap a few pics and send them off to him. He is already talking about a trade for a short while. Well, I know exactly what that means as that is what he said to me last time.

In the long run, they will both be mine. But I hope that day never comes (for obvious reasons). I can't say enough how much I enjoy having this hobby with him.

And thanks again David. You reinforce over and over why I have you on speed dial. Literally, every time you go above and beyond. Thank you.

We are doing a little family thing this weekend, so I expect to have my baby back on my wrist by Saturday. I am not even sure I will take the stickers off of this new one. I think he would enjoy that.

The obligatory pic.

yeah man. i can't get over how much i like the DD2.

i think there is a lot of class and a good amount of sport. i enjoy the precious metal aspect of it and think it might be the best all arounder for me.

i love my other watches. but there is something about the DD2 that i just can't get enough of. i knew i would not be satisfied until i was wearing one, once again.

great story and new watch Seth, congrats! You are a great son and I'm sure your father is very proud. As you know my plan is the more members of my family that wear and enjoy Rolex watches the more fun it is!!

Thanks Tom. And great pics. Always love seeing the family shots.

Now that the future Mrs. Superdog has hers, we will get the trio taken this weekend.

I can't agree more. The more Rolex watches, the better.

ps. i found out that the wedding is in Orlando. Still seeing how I can make my way to Tampa for a mini-GTG.

But worse comes to worse, I wear this beauty out of there. I am feeling like a very lucky man.

Love your posts and the DD2. Congratulations. Your dad must be proud to have you for a son. I only wish I could share my hobby with my dad too; he lives across the globe (and does not care for watches).

Congratulations, that is awesome and I am a little envious as I lost my dad just when my career was really starting to roll and I know he would have enjoyed being able to share this hobby.
Cheers
