Pam 512
Hey guys, I'm new to the panerai forum, and was looking for some help. In the past, I wasn't very interested in panerai, as most models I had seen were too big and/or too thick for my taste. However, I came across the 512 online, and was curious if others either purchased or tried on that reference, and what sort of impressions you had. Sports watches I have or had include a pp 5711, pp 5167, omega speedmaster, daytona 16520, gmt 1675, exp 16570, etc, so any comparison in reference to those pieces could be helpful.

Thin manual-wind 42mm 1940 Radiomir case with clean dial? Sign me up! Well, I would have gone for it, probably, but for the fake patina. To my eye, it doesn't work with polished SS.
You might try soliciting views on p.com, too. |

With respect to CJ, I rather like the model. I don't consider it to be fake patina, but rather a tan color on black.
I think that's why Panerai makes so many different models - appealing to many tastes. There are other 42mm PAMs available - 337, etc. which also look nice. good luck! |

The patina doesn't bother me, but I hadn't considered how it would look with a highly polished case. I'll definitely have to check it out in person. Thanks for the input. If anyone owns or previously owned a 512 I'd certainly appreciate their opinion.

It's a beauty. I went for the 514 instead. It's bigger and has a date. But that's personal preference. The colours work very well together imho. Here it is next to my 515.. Only pic of it on my iPad

Thanks
Go and try the 512 on if you can, it's quite thin and I think you'll like it. It's quite elegant too

I love the 512, mind you I have a smaller wrist so the 42 case is proportioned well. It is my dress watch right now.

I'm 7 and 1/8' and as much as I'd like to get a 372/422, they seem a bit large for me. But then again never say never

Nice - I prefer these Rads to the wire lug models

Had the opportunity to try on a 512...it was beautiful, but just not for me. Thanks for everyone's input though
