1900 Hampden wrist watch (114 yr old)

With the passing of my Grandfather, I was given a few of his watches. I thought i'd share this interesting Hampden wrist watch. Although it does not run, it winds, and is 100% complete. I'll be looking for a local watch repair shop to handle getting her back running again, along with the 1948 omega gifted to me as well.

I've never seen a wrist watch with a hinge, on the front. If anyone has any information on this kind or style of watch, i'd love to learn more about it. All ive been able to find is it was made somewhere between the beginning and middle of 1900 by the numbers off the movement. Other then that, I have not been able to find any information on the watch, its history, and worryingly if parts are available to get her running again.

I cannot express what it would mean to me to have more information on it and get it back running again in his memory.

More like a hybrid. The Prius of the pocketwatch world. Cool piece. I have a similar story with an inherited pocket watch and was asked by my watchmaker "does it have sentimental value?" Because done, running, restored it is worth less than what it will take to get it running. Yours appears to be in better shape though.
