To me it looks ok Steven.
I 've seen lots of old SS Datejust and this looks ok.
Datejust was introduced in 1945; I don't believe this one is from the 40s, it should be produced much later.
Also this "story with President Batista" it looks...emmmm....fake?
My problem is not with the photo (the watch is 100% real).
Instead it is with the guy and his small-value items in the feedback. Also he doesn't set a minimum!
This photo is very good and it might be taken from any website; and why only one?
I would ask for many more pics in a real context.
Also, why such low bids for this watch?

Conclusion: a real vintage Rolex picture but a very unreliable seller...

Hope that helps Steven

the thing about the pics are I checked everything he is selling and they are all taken in the same place.so I am sure they are in his possession.it appears he has lost his job and is liquidating all his possessions,as far as the story-it sounds exactly like the kind of story an old cuban would tell to his grandson about his important grandpa.
I already bought a cartier from him,I should get that in a couple of days.
I will let you know how that goes.
he wants 900 for this watch-which from the completed auctions sounds about right.I have asked him for more pics.
