just came back from my local AD, she also hinted price increase was on the way sometime in October.

She quoted me out the door price for new in stock in box Steel White face Daytona #116520 for $13,080.

is that a good price?

i know some of the trusted sellers here may be able to get it lower if inventory allows.
im still wary of internet purchase tho...

thoughts?

Not a good deal. Check the sellers here, and the who's who section for references. I bought my white dial one from Dennis Gold at Goldwatchco online. Perfect gentlemen, and I got a great deal!

Sounds like they discounted about the amount you'd pay in sales tax, so the amount paid would be close to the retail price before tax. You'd probably still save money if you bought a plane ticket to either Portland/Eugene/Salem OR and buy from one of the Rolex ADs there (no sales tax in Oregon) if they can discount the same amount your local AD did. That way you're still getting it direct from an AD if you're uncomfortable buying other ways.

$13,080 is exactly retail plus tax in California. $12,000 + 9% tax.

I live in California, vacationing in Maui.
Any advantage to purchasing AD in Hawaii?

If you have them ship the watch back home you can avoid sales tax all together.

That's true ONLY if the retailer you are buying your watch from in Hawaii doesn't have a retail location in California.

How much discount on a regular Daytona? Online shopping is a best way for Luxury watches to avoid huge tax.

At least Rolex will eventually raise prices, weather forecasting is completely a guess.

This is my first ever prediction. And last prediction. But we will see price increase by end of Oct 1. Someone quote this and I'm quitting at 100%

I will be requesting a special color from admin for being only person to accurately predict price increase 100% of the time

In fact, my AD told me that he enjoys chatting with me, because I do keep up with the watch boards and he doesn't have time to.

And also, he agrees that Rolex has better security than the CIA, the NSA and the FBI combined.
Yup, it seems it's easier to jump the White House fence nowadays than it is to enter Rolex's HQ!
