I will not wear a mechanical watch that has no heritage, no soul but just a business opportunist.

...but not exactly unknown for Heuer.

Autavia, or Autavia GMT from the 60s/70s were Sub/GMT "homages" (albeit with chrono sub dials as well), and are very desirable/collectible in their own right.
Certainly within the motor racing sphere during that era Heuer can lay claim to some pretty decent heritage.

I agree, but it don't say Rolex. It says I wish I had a Rolex.

My thought too.

So Tag have nicked the bezel numbed design from the omega PO Gmt and the colours from BLNR. Ordinary.

It really isn't, other than the sub being copied by virtually everyone. The Tag coming out at a time when the BLNR is so hot to the point of being instantly iconic makes this a far more obvious calculation by Tag. They've lost the plot and need to scale way back on models and play to their own history, but at prices that are consistent with their quality, movements, and market position as a "mall watch" IMO.

^^^^^^^^^^

I will mention that the blue colors in the product ad match exactly, but in real life the Rolex blue rarely looks like the blue in the ad, but I suspect the TAG will always look that color of blue.

I like it and may buy it when it becomes available.
I want a gmt and have been lusting after the blnr and a gmt ii. But I'd rather not spend that much right now.

If I'm not mistake most people on this board never liked TAG anyway, so now that they've made a GMT watch with a black and blue bezel, I don't understand all the outrage.

Is anyone here going to suffer personally because of this watch?

I highly doubt that this watch is going to look anywhere as good as a BLNR, but knock yourself out, if that's what you want.

The bezel is aluminum and doesn't rotate.

There is no shortage of GMT watches on the market in many price ranges.

I like the Submariner. But if I'm correct, wasn't it styled after the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. Neither is an exact copy of the other. Obviously Rolex came after the 50 Fathoms. How is that much different than this situation. Rolex are good watches but they are not the "almighty" of watches. Obviously there is going to be bias on this forum.

No. I quite sure you're wrong.

Rolex actually is the "almighty" of watches.
